Class Highlights:

· Patrol Rifle Training: Led by Benny Cooley, a Department of Energy SWAT member and multi-time 3-Gun Champion. Cooley brings a wealth of tactical experience to his dynamic, real-world training on patrol rifle techniques and marksmanship.

· Handgun Mastery: Train with Yong Lee, a former SWAT officer and 5-time USPSA Grand Master. Learn to enhance your precision, speed, and decision-making with expert handgun instruction, designed for the most demanding environments. Mastering Handgun Reflexive Shooting: Increase accuracy, shooting and transition speed with utilization of extreme target focus and body mechanics. Attendees may use either red dot or iron sights for the class.

· Mechanical & Ballistic Breaching: Learn the critical art of breaching from Cory Feldman, a seasoned sheriff’s deputy and SWAT officer with expertise in mechanical, ballistic, and explosive breaching. Gain practical insights and advanced techniques used in high-risk, high-stakes situations.

· Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR): Led by Charles Tate Moots, retired Federal Law Enforcement with 30 years experience. This course exposes tactical operators to deployment and techniques for designated marksman rifle engagements. Topics covered include: rifle set-up, maintenance and care of rifle, zero rifles, reticle(s), DATA collection, wind, rapid deployment, Gross Point Blank, dialing DATA, hold over/under DATA, awkward positions, gear, ranging target distance techniques, and unknown target size and distance. This course of instruction will stress the fundamentals of marksmanship, precision shooting, and rapid engagements. Practical application training will include deployment, observation, range estimation, and engagements with difficulty progression.

Instructor Bios:

YONG LEE

Yong Lee retired after 30 years of LE service from Bellevue Police (WA) in December of 2018. He has 30 years of experience as a LE Firearms Instructor and Competition Shooter. He served 11 years as a SWAT Operator and three years as a SWAT Team Leader. He is a Force Science Institute Coordinator and Master Instructor. He initiated and instituted the full deployment duty Red Dot Pistol program at Bellevue (WA) PD. He holds USPSA Grandmaster classification in five divisions including Carry Optics. He has numerous State and Regional Championship titles in USPSA/Practical Shooting including 2020 USPSA Area 1 Championship win in the Carry Optics division. He is also California POST certified “Train the Trainer” Red Dot Pistol Instructor. His “Train the Trainer” course has been adopted by CA POST.

BENNIE W. COOLIE JR.

Bennie Cooley has extensive experience in SWAT training and has cross-trained and provided professional training to specialized units within our military, federal, state and county law enforcement organizations. Bennie has served on the board of directors for the Mountain States Tactical Officers Association, and received their Excellence Award in recognition for winning back-to-back National SWAT Team Championship in Gainesville Georgia. Bennie has also received two World Class Quality Improvement Awards for his leadership and training of personnel where he is recognized for his outstanding ability to instruct and develop individuals in CQB Shooting, Long Range Engagements, Active Shooter and Hostage Rescue Operations.

COREY FELDMAN

Cory Feldman has worked in law enforcement for 23 years and is still actively working in law enforcement. Cory’s experience includes working in a jail setting managing inmates, Patrol Deputy, School Resource Officer, Training Deputy, and Property Crimes Detective.

Cory’s collateral duties consist of instruction in Tactical Team Operations, Active Shooter Response, Less Lethal Weapons, Distraction Devices, Chemical Munitions, Less Lethal Impact Munitions, Aerosol Projectors, Bombs and Explosives, EVOC, Firearms, Weapon Retention, and ARCON.

Cory was assigned to the ADA Metro SWAT Team as an explosive breacher and is currently assigned as a sniper with the Ada County SWAT TEAM.

Retired Federal Law Enforcement with 30 years of experience protecting U.S. Government personnel, facilities, information and conducting National Security missions. Multi-disciplinary skills in: Security, Emergency Preparedness, Physical Security, Tactics, Transportation Security System and Executive Protection. Proven record instructing pistol/carbine, Sniper Rifle, Designated Marksman Rifle, SWAT/Special Response Force, tactics, and Convoy Operations. Currently an instructor at Shaw Shooting/Mid-South Training Institute.
